  • How does it work?
We meet weekly with a group of students for online sessions conducted via Zoom. During each sessions, our mentor, Danu, will review the work-in-progress (WIP) submitted by students. Everyone is encouraged to listen to the comments and feedback on others' work, as it's a great way to learn and share insights! One of the best features of Zoom is its ability to record the entire session, which is extremely helpful. We will send you a link to the recorded session the day after each online session, allowing you to revisit it so that you don’t miss anything. Feel free to ask any questions or express any doubts at any time during the session; you can also wait until the end if you prefer. Additionally, for those seeking more feedback, we will offer offline reviews between our online sessions. This is a perfect opportunity to showcase what you’re working on. Most importantly,
  • What do we offer?
We truly believe in the amazing training at CAW. You'll find top-notch materials included, lots of demos, and class recordings with high-end VFX standard rigs. After you complete 12 weeks of sessions, you’ll get unlimited free offline reviews to help you perfect your final showreel. Plus, having the CAW logo on your work can really open up job opportunities for you! So many of our students have enjoyed offline reviews for over a year while working on their showreels, and we’re so happy to share that many of them have landed their dream jobs! They often tell us how grateful they are for our support, especially because other schools or workshops didn’t help them finish their projects.
  • Do I have to start from workshop 00?
No, based on your experience and your skills in the showreel, you will be advised which workshops suit you better.
  • How do we treat assignments?
The whole idea and implementation of assignments will be designed to be the same as you are working on your shots in a film studio under the supervision of your lead or supervisor.
  • What happens on weekly sessions?
Live critiques and comments on the shot submitted and more deep explanation about the body mechanics and performance of creature and workflow of how to solve the issues in the shot and bring it to life like quality.
  • How many sessions are held each week, and how many animators participate in each workshop?
We will hold one online live session each week. Additionally, we will offer offline review opportunities between the online sessions for those who wish to showcase their work in progress (WIP). A maximum of 5 to 6 animators can join each session at the same time.
  • Can I gain access to the CAW rigs?
Once you have paid for the workshop, you will gain access to the rigs based on the assignment you choose (which may be one or two). You will be allowed to keep these rigs after the workshop concludes. Since the rigs are quite expensive, you may not have access to all of them at the start. After participating in one or two workshops and depending on your performance, you may request access to additional rigs. Please ensure you follow the instructions outlined in the rigs usage policy.
  • What is the policy regarding the usage of CAW rigs?
All the rigs from CAW are copyrighted to CreatureAnimationWorkshop and are property of Playblast studio Ltd. It's not allowed to use them for any company, school or any other workshop purposes (paid or unpaid work) and students strictly should follow and not share these rigs with anyone. If you see these rigs anywhere outside the workshop please inform to creatureanimationworkshop@gmail.com.
  • Is it possible for us to use rigs from outside for CAW?
Absolutely, you can! Just try to pick some rigs that you find appealing, and it’s a great idea to chat with your mentor about them first. Here are some of my personal recommendations for rigs that you might like: https://gumroad.com/truongcgartist http://www.3dfiggins.com/Store You can use any online free rigs that you prefer.
  • Is CAW an accredited school? Do you have scholarships available?
CAW isn’t a school, so you won’t be receiving grades, credits, or certificates here. There are no exams, and there’s no pass or fail in our workshop! Instead, we focus on exploring both basic and advanced animation techniques. You'll get to work on fun assignments and create shots that you can proudly add to your showreel, complete with the CAW logo. We’re here to help you learn and grow your skills!
