By building on what you learned in WS01 and WS02, you’ll gain the confidence to tackle creatures with intricate body mechanics and behaviours. In this workshop, we’ll dive into the amazing choreography between two creatures, showcasing dynamic action sequences and the exciting flow of energy and power between them. This experience will not only enhance your reel but also fill it with captivating drama, lively movement, and action scenes that are sure to wow any audience.

  • After completing WS02 or having significant experience as an animator, you should be comfortable with animals and possess a decent level of quality in creature shots in your personal or professional works.
  • Having solid experience in animation and a deep understanding of Maya is essential for success in this field.

What valuable knowledge and skills will you gain?
  • Focus on our references with intent. We need to clearly understand their essence and effectively incorporate that quality into our animation. This is crucial for producing impactful work.

  • We are animating not just for the main camera, but also for the Witness camera. It is crucial that the creature's animation functions effectively from all angles, not merely from the primary viewpoint.

  • Working with a camera can be a challenge, especially since many of us don’t often animate it. However, animating the camera can elevate your work significantly. In this guide, we’ll explore how to effectively animate the camera, enhancing the realism and impact of your shots.

  • Being honest about your weight is essential for presenting authentic moments from all angles. Even if the camera does not capture perfection, the true essence of the individual must still be conveyed.

  • Working with path animation involves attaching the walking or running sequence to the designated path.
